Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long is a term?
We run four 10 week terms per year, following the school timetables. We generally take a break during school holidays and the terms stagger over the holiday period. You only pay for weeks where classes are running. Our full timetable for the year can be found here
2. How do I pay for classes?
Bookings can be made here on our website. There is an online payment link for debit cards. We can also take debit card payments in reception. Terms are paid in advance in full. We do not accept credit cards.
We also offer a 2 instalment option with our Go Cardless direct debit scheme. Term cost is split into two instalments, taken in weeks 1 and 5 of each term. To sign up for this option please either email us for the link or ask in our reception for more details. NB: full payment or Go Cardless must be obtained at least 48 hours before term commencement. Non payment = no place.
3. Where can I park?
There are parking spaces at the front and down the side of our building. At peak class times there may not be a space, in this case please park on the streets directly in front and opposite the Swim Centre. Please respect local residents and park sensibly.
4. What should I bring to lessons?
Babies need a disposable swimming nappy covered with an outer neoprene swimming nappy. Adults need to wear a swimming hat and will also need their own goggles with clear lenses. Don’t forget your shower gel and a nice fluffy towel.
5. What time should I arrive for my class?
Please allow max 15 minutes changing time prior to your class start time. There is a comfy lounge area for any early arrivals. Our Receptionist will direct you into the changing rooms at your changing time on your first few visits.
6. Can I bring a spectator?
Yes, we can accommodate spectators in our lovely lounge area in reception where there is a CCTV showing our classes. We cannot accommodate any spectators in the pool area.
7. Do I need to be able to swim to participate?
Not necessarily. Our pool is 1.1 metres deep and is comfortable enough for an adult to stand in waist or shoulder deep depending on individual height. You will need to hold your child during class, and walk carefully around the pool during activity. All of our teachers are able to help and guide any non swimmers throughout the class and will ensure a relaxing and comfortable experience for anyone who may be apprehensive.
8. Can we both swim with our baby during the classes?
Just one adult carer per baby/child in the water each class. You are welcome to take turns providing both carers have watched the classes from the viewing lounge and understand the swim holds and cue.
9. Is changing communal?
There is a unisex changing area with separate private changing cubicles for each participant.
10. Are there baby changing stations?
We have 3 changing stations and 8 changing mats. There is also a nappy bin in the changing area for nappy disposal.
11. Are there lockers for my belongings?
Yes, there are lockers for each participant which are free of charge.
12. Can I breastfeed?
